Step By Step Guide On How To Install WordPress On Localhost WAMP :-

  1. It is required that you install WAMP on your Windows computer in order to create your local web server.
  2. Installing WordPress on your computer, acting as localhost, and configuring your own website without needing a web host is an easy process with WAMP, or WAMPSERVER. WAMP must be downloaded and installed locally on the computer, Visit the WAMP website.
  3. During the download process, you'll notice two versions. There are two versions of WAMPSERVER, one for Windows 64-bit systems and the other for Windows 32-bit environments.
  4. Your computer's Control Panel > System and Security > System is the place to look for this.
  5. A default folder and drive for WAMP will be ‘C:/WAMP64’, as indicated above.
  6. Upon checking that everything is okay, click on ‘Install’.
  7. The above window will appear after successful installation. Finish by clicking 'Finish'.
  8. You would need to start the WAMPSERVER. What is the process for starting and stopping services? Click on the WAMPSERVER icon.
  9. You should check to see if the various services are running, such as Apache, PHP, and MySQL.

  11. You will be able to download the file ‘WordPress-5.5.3.zip’. Open the file and extract the contents.

  13. The 'www' folder is located under WAMP. The 'wordpress' folder should be pasted into the 'www' directory.
  14. Creating the MySQL Database, You will now have to access ‘phpMyAdmin’.
  15. Wampserver icon and you will notice ‘phpMyAdmin’. Click on that. The other option is to type ‘http://localhost/phpmyadmin’ in the web browser.
  16. Enter the ‘Username’ as ‘root’ and keep the ‘Password’ blank. Select 'Go' from the menu. In the 'phpMyAdmin' dashboard, you will be able to manage your database.
  17. The 'Databases' tab at the top lets you create a new database. Click on 'Create' and enter your database name.
  18. My database is called 'wpastra', for example. Now that the database has been created, head back to the WordPress installation page and click on ‘Let’s go!’.
  19. To begin, enter the name of the database you just created under ‘Database Name’. As for the ‘Username’, enter the same as ‘root’. And the ‘Password’ field can be left empty. Leave the remaining two fields, i.e., ‘Database Host’ and ‘Table Prefix’, as the default values. Which are ‘localhost’ and ‘wp’ respectively. Once completed, click on ‘Submit’.
  20. Please enter the 'Site Title', the 'Username', the 'Password', and 'Your Email'. And then, click on ‘Install WordPress’.
  21. Click on ‘Log In’ once the installation has been completed successfully.
  22. Enter the username and password you just created.
  23. Great! You are on the WordPress dashboard. You have installed WordPress on your Windows computer using WAMP. You can access your website by entering in the URL, which for this example is ‘http://localhost/wpastra’.
  24. Go ahead, install your themes, the plugins, test the complete functionalities, and create your WordPress website on your Windows computer.
